Writing & developing cinema and TV projects

An intensive immersion in the practices of writing, developing and evaluating audiovisual projects

Overview

The Summer School, organized in collaboration with the School of Church Communication at the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce, provided students, young screenwriters, producers and directors with an intensive immersion in the practices of writing, developing and evaluating audiovisual projects. Most of the classes have been taught by Bobette Buster, one of America's best-known screenwriting professors and development consultants. 

 

The Summer School took place in July 2023 at the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce in Rome.

Program

The program was divided into three modules:

  • MODULE 1
    The American Way of Storytelling: Hollywood and Independent Cinem
    (lectures by Bobette Buster) 
  • MODULE 2
    From True Stories to Films and Tv Series: some European Experiences
    (Francesco Arlanch, Armando Fumagalli)
  • MODULE 3
    The development of projects
    (workshop led by Bobette Buster on film and TV projects submitted by participants).

BOBETTE BUSTER

Script Consultant

She has worked for Disney and 20th Century Fox and has been a lecturer at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, NorthEastern University, Boston, and Tufts University and at Pixar Animation Studios.

ARMANDO FUMAGALLI

University Professors and Script Consultant

Director of the Master in International Screenwriting and Production at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, script consultant for Lux vide since 1999.
Certificate

Participants who attended the Summer School were awarded a certificate of participation by the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, based on the number of modules attended.
